BIOGRAPHY of Marcel Gosselin
Multi-media artist Marcel Gosselin was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba in 1948
and currently lives in La Salle, Manitoba. Marcel possesses a Bachelor of Fine
Arts (Honours) degree and describes himself as a visual artist who creates
bookworks from a visual and tactile perspective. Marcel was commissioned to do
the Forks National Historic Park Sculpture in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1991.
Sculpteur, dessinateur, inventeur et auteur-compositeur-interprète, cet artiste franco-manitobain, novateur en multimédia, fait preuve d’une grande créativité dans le domaine des arts depuis 30 ans. Il est récipiendaire de plusieurs bourses des Conseils des Arts du Canada et du Manitoba. Il a participé à de nombreuses expositions au Manitoba, au Canada et en France. Ses œuvres figurent dans des collections privées et publiques. English translation: As a sculptor, painter and singer-songwriter this Manitoba artist has been active in the arts community for over thirty years. His innovative approach to the arts has earned him support from the Canada Arts Council and the Manitoba Arts Council. He has exhibited frequently in Manitoba, throughout Canada and more recently in France. His work is featured in public and private collections.
